It’s library week on Past & Presence, our department’s new webisode series:
Not only do I host episode 3 from locations in the Bethel University Library, but we talk to two of our librarians. One of them is a former student in our department, as is our interview subject of the week: Kevin McGrew, director of libraries at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. And all this a couple of days after our Intro in History held class in, yes, the Bethel Library, to start work on an annotated bibliography assignment. To help guide them in that work, our weekly faculty conversation focuses on secondary and tertiary sources, the value of footnotes, and the significance of historiography.
And if you’ve enjoyed my recent posts about our January travel course on the history of World War I, be looking for an ad for that course that features video footage shot in Europe by Sam Mulberry.
