Please join me in supporting an exciting new project being spearheaded by Mark Safstrom (University of Illinois; editor of Pietisten) and Michelle Clifton-Soderstrom (North Park Theological Seminary; author of Angels, Worms, and Bogeys: The Christian Ethic of Pietism): a six-part documentary film series on the history of Pietism!
God’s Glory, Neighbor’s Good will be written by Michelle and Mark, produced by Dave Oseland, and filmed by Tim Frakes. They plan to film on location in Germany and Scandinavia and to include interviews with experts from American religious traditions influenced by Pietism. The documentary would be accessible to general audiences and suitable for church use; an hour-long condensation might also be aimed at public television.
The project is being supported by North Park and by Pietisten. (Check out their new issue, by the way!) But to make it happen, they’ll need help from lots of other people.
You can support the development of this documentary series by making a financial contribution at IndieGoGo. They have thirty-nine days left in which to raise the $10,000 needed for the first phase of the project.
