Chris Gehrz

The owner and operator of Pietist Schoolman Travel, Chris is professor of history at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he came in 2003 after completing his doctorate at Yale University. A past winner of Bethel’s Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching, Chris’ courses include World War I (a J-term travel course in Europe), World War II, The Cold War, Modern Europe, The History and Politics of Sports, and Christianity and Western Culture. The author or editor of three books, Chris is currently writing a spiritual biography of Charles A. Lindbergh. He blogs regularly here at The Pietist Schoolman and also at The Anxious Bench for Patheos.

Sam Mulberry is assistant professor of history at his alma mater, Bethel University, where he directs the Academic Enrichment and Support Center and teaches Christianity and Western Culture and World War I with Chris. The 2017 winner of Bethel’s Faculty Excellence Award for Service, Sam recently made a feature-length documentary film on teaching and produces numerous podcasts on the Channel 3900 network.

Chris Moore is associate professor and chair of the political science department at Bethel University, where he has taught since 2008 after completing a doctorate at the Ohio State University. Chris is the 2018 winner of the Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching, co-teaches History and Politics of Sports with Chris Gehrz, and advises Bethel’s Model United Nations club. He also hosts Election Shock Therapy, a podcast on American politics and political science. Chris‘ current research is a study of how American evangelical Christians develop their views on foreign policy.
